All of us at the childbirth class reunion. We had a great time seeing the other two couples--and their babies!--and sharing stories about our births and the weeks following. We hope to have more get togethers in the future.

Zoe, Scarlett, and Dylan. Head-to-head-to-head at the class reunion.
Dylan at our childbirth class reunion. To his right is Zoe and to his left is Scarlett. Dylan and Zoe were born on the same day while Scarlett arrived about a month before they did (she was full-term). Dylan was hungry by picture time so that's why it looks like he's trying to eat Scarlett--because he is!
Dylan smiling in his crib. This is more like his sly grin that he has going on. We're trying to get his open-mouthed smile on film...
Dylan Alexander. Four weeks and one day old! That's his pal Rollie Pollie. We'll use Rollie Pollie as a measuring stick for hs growth over the weeks.

Mom and Dylan hanging out after one of his several morning feedings. This shot should put to rest rumors of the woman in those other photographs not actually being Hannah since you couldn't see her face...;-)
Another one where we attempted to get a few shots of some of the funny faces he was making. Again, this isn't one of them, but...
Dylan was making a bunch of cute faces and we tried to capture a few of them. This isn't one of them, but heck it's still a picture of our handsome baby boy.
Dylan and Mom out for a walk a few days after we got home from the hospital. The weather's been great for walks!

Dylan asleep in his crib.
Another view of Dylan in his papasan chair.
Dylan and mom.
Dylan sitting in his new papasan chair. This is usually where he goes when we're eating. Well, when we're attempting to eat sitting together at the same time!

There are two stories about this picture. First, Dylan's outfit was handmade by his Aunt Kim. The picture really doesn't show off the intricacy of the pattern, but it's really a beautiful piece of work. We called him our little elven crusader since he kind of looked like a superhero with it on :-) Second, note the Red Sox cap on Dad. The night before, Dylan and Dad were watching the Indians play the Red Sox on television. The Sox were behind 8-6 in the bottom of the ninth with two men on base and Big Papi coming to bat. Dad said to the television, "Okay, Papi. This is my son's first Red Sox game. Hit a three-run, walk-off homerun for him." And Big Papi obliged! Thus was transferred the occasionally joyous, sometimes sorrowful, and eternally frustrating experience of being a true Red Sox fan.
Dylan had to spend his first couple of days in ISPCU (Infant Special Care Unit) as a precaution against infection because both he and mom had fevers at the time of his birth. This is one of his first post-delivery chances to check out mom and he definitely likes what he sees!
Dylan Alexander Phillips. Born: Saturday, July 29, 2006 at 8:55 p.m. Weighing in at 8 pounds, 9.6 ounces. 21.75" long. From the look on his face, we're not sure he was ready to join us, but we're thrilled he's finally here!
